Nope, states can impose more stringent requirements in many instances. Just look at magazine capacity limits for one.Seems like federal law doesn't require an FFL to receive a black powder gun--last I heard it was illegal to require more stringent rules than the Constitution does
If only that was true. IL makes you have a FIOD card even for the BP guns. Every state has a set of laws on guns, all of them different. Some places even cities get involved in this. They can of course be fought in court but, who pays? It can be HUGE expense to fight these law makers. The law makers do not care as they have tax money to hire all the lawyers they want.Seems like federal law doesn't require an FFL to receive a black powder gun--last I heard it was illegal to require more stringent rules than the Constitution does
Yes, an agreement was made. Money received. I think I will return the money and forget sending the Old Army 44. It is not worth sticking my neck out.I guess the biggest question is, do you have a Ruger Old Army for sale?
Toss it up for sale here. Ever since they stopped making those fine pistols there has been a constant search for them by people who want one. Most of the people here live in a state where you can legally just ship it direct to them. May even find someone who wants to meet you face to face to buy.Yes, an agreement was made. Money received. Now that would be GRAND if they did that. Sadly of course we will never see that happen. An amazing number of people still seem to be under the impression that the constitution and even SCOTUS judgments are final. They are nothing but a piece of paper that means nothing. Everything is up to some black robe to say what really is. For anyone who does not like what some black robe decides they have to find someone to pay to fight it. When it comes to guns its real easy to find lots of black robes who hate them.Seems to me that Marbury vs Madison was pretty clear on this

As you say it must be costly but the winner should have legal expenses paid by the loser

yes sadly you see a lot of this on the net. Cutey saying that make great bumper stickers. For all the tough talk its just not ever going to happen. Look at the last year plus of this great hoax. The masses laid down and begged to be beaten more. As long as there is food in the store and stuff to watch on TV few care. Any who did take up arms would be flattened like a bug. Then the press would go 24/7 on how some "kook" with a gun did this and champion more gun control.Call out the snipers?
One easy way to check? Look at online retailers who sell BP guns. See if they are willing to just ship you one. If they are that tells you all you need to know. The sites that sell these will show which states and localities have restrictions and what those are.Can someone provide a law quote (in simple English) that says BP guns do not require ffl to sell inside Oregon (or maybe to WA) Face to face preferred.
Get ahold of The Gunworks over in Springfield. They are a premier dealer in BP firearms, and are well schooled on the various laws nationwide. Can someone provide a law quote (in simple English) that says BP guns do not require ffl to sell inside Oregon (or maybe to WA) Face to face preferred.
