Is there a Washington version of Sheriff Palmer who comes to Oregon? I've wanted to get my Washington carry license/permit but haven't had the time to. Whenever I go up north it's always on a weekend or after business hours:(

I'd recommend getting a Utah permit instead. Utah's fees are about the same, has reciprocity with WA and several other states. You mail the application in too.

No. I'm an Oregon resident wanting to be legal to carry in WA. So a Utah permit would work. I'd just have to take (and pay for) the Utah class and then still pay for the license.

Thought I was answering the correct question. For me the $40 difference was worth it because I plan on travelling into states the have reciprocity with UT but neither OR or WA. Especially considering they $10 vs. over $30+ for WA and its done through the mail every 5 years. That and the antigun people really don't like UT. They have the lowest score of any state from the Brady Campaign. That helped convince me to give them my few dollars.

I love that scoring map that the Brady Bunch has on their website. Oregon doesn't do half bad on there either. I probably will end up getting my Utah just because of convenience (no traveling required). I just hate to spend any more than I have to because that takes away from my ammo fund:(

Any word on when Sheriff Glen Palmer will be back to Vancouver, Every time I get the free time something stops me from going to grant county Tuesday and Wednesday it is the airport closures and restrictions of politicians. Usually it's money and weather!

Sheriff Palmer seems like a great guy.

I live in OR, so don't need his services (and have yet to purchase my first handgun and concealed carry permit), but I'm really encouraged from what I'm hearing.

I will be in Vancouver this weekend...January 15, 2011 Round Table Pizza off of Hwy 99 1-3 p.m.

Sheriff Palmer:)

Thank you Sheriff Palmer for your dedication and time to help us WA residents with the process! Your efforts are truly appreciated. I will see you on your next visit closer to the greater Seattle area.

Take Care,

-G

I just learned that Sheriff Palmer is planning to visit Vancouver WA sometime mid-May. He is looking for a Vancouver based gun owner for help to setup meeting place. Anyone from Vancouver that can assist?
