Gee... let's request the expenditure of MILLIONS of tax payer dollars on study to determine the best way for safe storage of firearms in the home....

Uhhhh.... a gun safe.

That'll be $100,000,000,000.00, please. I'll accept PayPal and will even waive the 3% transaction fee!

He is hoping that they will issue a report recommending that all firearms be dismantled and locked in a safe with ammo stored separately. Then he will use the report to justify legislation in Oregon to implement these unconstitutional rules.

Most all of the comments in the linked article are blasting his stupid idea.

This kind of stuff wouldn't be coming up so much now if people didn't seem to be getting dumber every week? Or have people ALWAYS been this dumb? And/or is it just the media pushing it to the forefront. You guys have to admit, there are some pretty stupid things people are doing to hurt themselves and others with guns. What else are the leaders supposed to do when the constituency is SCREAMING for them to do something? "Studies" of course! And ACTION, usually of the nonsensical kind.

It would be nice if there were an education campaign to educate people in the proper storage and safety of firearms. Nothing demeaning, or scary, just proper storage, reaffirmation of the basic four rules etc. Seems like common sense, it's not like guns are going away, so learn to live safely with firearms!

We can be trusted to keep the car keys, the alcohol, the prescription drugs and the cigarettes out of reach from the kids but not guns:rolleyes:
