What caliber is the Model 1895? What condition is the bore? What is the rear sight?

I have gotten mixed feedback on those that have looked at the 1895 regarding caliber it appears to be a .30-40 but needs to be verified by someone who knows these... Its still available.

It would say right on the barrel what its chambered for.

Its an old piece, most the stamping has worn pretty badly. I cant find any marks on the barrel regarding caliber. The shops i tried could not either.
