what is your take on this?

i had a deal worked out with a guy for a trade on a glock a couple of days ago that he sent me an email stating that he wanted to do the trade and asked where we would like to meet. i told him i could drive to where he lived. I didnt hear from him for two days, until he just sent me an email stating that he sold the gun yesterday after he told me he wanted to trade. does this happen alot on this site, or did i just get shady person?

I think it happens more than you'd think. Sad. I wish I could count on my fingers how many times I've had someone say they wanted to make a deal with me then magically stop sending messages or making calls. My favorite went down like this.

Dude emails me says he wants my gun
Dude stops responding night before we should meet up.
Dude doesn't show at meet up.
Dude emails 1 week later and asks if I still had the gun
    Dude says he wants it
I say "yeah I still have it, I pulled it off the market because you said you wanted it"
Dude says "I'll give you $200 less than I originally said I'd take it for since You're having so much trouble getting rid of it"
    I stop responding to him.
