The letter speaks for itself.
I think it's best to not throw the pasta on the wall to see if it's done.
Are you officer Kinney?
I thought I heard this story last year? I see the date was 2014
Well kudos to Officer Kinney. And I mean that sincerely.
But.... this is kinda.... you know... telling........ about the police officer subculture... that a cop doing a nice thing is so outrageously rare that he'd get a letter of commendation for it.
I mean.. think about it...
Well I guess so. But I'd rather see it as the Chief of Police had class and leadership.
Hang on, let me check. Nope, I am not him.
That's not an uncommon thing. It's really common it's the same as the news though 99% of what you hear is the cop bashing hate talk of low lifes that don't want to live by societies rules.
And/or THINK they are being profiled.
This video made me tear up and shake my head. Makes you wanna be even better. Like this fine man that was burned down. I can only imagine he treated the folks on his marine duties over seas with the same love.
I think you are missing the point entirely. The point was he didn't tell anyone. He didn't make a big deal about it.
He went way beyond the confines of his job expectations. Cops aren't expected to pay out of pocket or put in work off the job to round up clothing and items for a family in need. That's going beyond expectations.
That goes for anyone really, just because one is a cop doesn't mean going the extra mile is somehow less impressive and it would be every bit as impressive if the guy that just repossessed their car, for example, saw all that and stepped in.
I don't think cops / firemen / EMT's and other first responders "doing something nice" or going above and beyond is all that rare either, I think that people get pissy about it when people call attention to it because they are haters. Or maybe because they assume that should just be part of "the job"....its not.
JEEZZES KA RYST
Y'all can't even get along on a thread about someone doing good
This IS us getting along!
Sounds like this Officer's normal behavior has disrupted the belief system of some who prefer to focus on the bad apples (so to speak). Anyone here who has done what the Officer did (in one fashion or another) knows how amazing it is to give something to someone who is at the end of things.
Hot Tip...watch the movie "Facing the Giants"
Well, it all starts with a odd comment, and then it grows like willies beard.
