I did not read all 98 or so comments but some obviously written by ANTIS are priceless - and displays the abject stupidity of them and their ideas.

We sure can. How about locking up violent criminals? I know it sounds crazy, but it just might work!

I'm sick and tired of them claiming they need to "Reach out to gun owners". I want them to "REACH OUT" and arrest the G-D criminals! Arrest them good, and put them away for a good long time.

Problem with that very reasonable position is that it would break their narrative: They are unwilling to acknowledge the fact that the VAST VAST MAJORITY of violent crime is committed by a certain demographic. To do so would require admitting that the decades of well-intentioned but woefully malignant policies they've supported that do everything humanly possible to avoid holding individuals accountable for their bad behavior have been wrong on a monumental scale. In fact, it would require admitting that their entre world view is irredeemable fiction. Thus they double down on the irrational pablum that suggests an inanimate object is capable of violence and then further pile on the lunacy that criminals will suddenly obey laws. We know even if the guns go away, the violence remains.

We the rational, responsible, reasonable, non-criminal consenting adult gun owners know better: We know that a firearm is inert metal and polymer and that the sole outcome of its use is entirely dependent on the user. We know that gun control -- now disingenuously called gun safety -- does not reduce violent crime in the slightest and that its only real net effect is to shift the ratio of nonviolent, non-criminal gun owners to violent criminal gun owners, most of whom are already prohibited by law from even purchasing ammunition let alone owning a firearm. We know that an assault rifle is a made-up term intended to frighten soccer birthing people into donating money to the anti-gun cause. We know laws are for the law-abiding and that even that has its limits.

Maybe it is time for we deplorable rational reasonable law-abiding consenting adults to stop being so... reasonable... YMMV.
