Exactly. They do it. When they wreck their cars due to their fault, license to drive and car, GONE! They're pushing these laws all over the U.S. Some states have already destroyed the 2nd amendment.

They're never going to support something that effects/takes away from themselves personally.

By their logic, no one needs a car with over 150 HP. Those are just for exceeding the posted speed limit and endangering others on the roadway. How about everybody with a 'high powered' car has to go through annual BGC's, including medical records to make sure they're not prescribed any impairing medication or other issues, and if folks feel concerned, law enforcement can seize their cars, just temporarily (a year+), and they can come in to court and prove they're not a danger to anyone.

If it saves just one life, wouldn't it be worth it?

Guessing they wouldn't be so willing to get board that band wagon.

Now if a training completion certificate entitled you to a tax exemption for your next firearm purchase, more people would invest in the training.

"They" wouldn't want that. That would make firearm ownership look attractive. Kind of like why potland won't go through with the plans developed many years ago to eliminate the I-5 bottle neck at The Rose Quarter. It would allow more cars to travel smoothly through the area. o_O

As previously posted, with all these proposed restrictions, all they would have to do is insert something to the effect of '... during the commission of X, Y, Z crimes...' ie. using a magazine holding more than 10 rounds while committing burglary, robbery, rape, home invasion, etc...'

That would focus on actual violent criminals rather than on good, law-abiding folks.

So why isn't that occurring?

I won't give them enough credit by saying they will skew the numbers or change the survey results. They will look at them and say to themselves "Obviously the people are incapable of governing themselves safely and appropriately, so it's a good thing they have us to look after them" and do what they want anyway! That's the kind of arrogant, elitist, self-righteous mentality that embodies today's Democratic "leaders"...

It is the same thinking that made us vote on the same issue several times before they would let it stand - assisted suicide. They just didn't seem to get that Oregonians were in support of Death With Dignity and the Legislators thought that they knew better.

On the flip side, ignorance of the voting populace and the Legislature is driving much of the anti-gun legislation. We just can't win., although I think that Oregonians were very knowledgeable about the Death With Dignity law. We just can't seem to educate enough Oregonians about the 2nd Amendment and guns in general.
