Professor at Asbury University. David_R_Wheeler Thinks things in England are far better than U.S.
"we would be far better off if we apologized for our revolt against the Crown and requested to rejoin the United Kingdom."
"Brits have better health, manners, less inequality and superior culture"

Reminds me of the whole State of Jefferson thing and good for them I guess!, but this guy's article ignores a whole bunch of negatives about the U.K.

    First the gun issue!

Second, he's obsessed with wage gaps and so on. He doesn't want to bring the poor up as much as he feels a need to bring the wealthy down.

Third the Culture! It is dying fast in Europe. The #1 name of baby boys being born in England is Mohammed!
Young white English couples mostly don't stay married and have babies later and later in life. Then only 1 rarely 2.

This Anglophile Professor needs to take off his rose "coloured specs" and quit spreading BS!
Of course what do you expect from CNN!

If he likes it better there, then he should move there - we won't miss him

Well if it's so great, and as the title of this thread indicated, why did Scotland just kick them in the nuts?

DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!!!
They are after our dentists and barbers! If socialized health care is so great in the U.K. how come so many of the unkempt sods have teeth like a troll?

I spent a year there one weekend couple of years ago while moving my daughter into her dorm....each day it was 90 deg. at 7am and the cars in the parking lots were covered in dew! The locals were wearing jackets!!! Dew at 90 deg?...yikes!!!

So yes, I'd move there...but with 3 conditions:
1- they move Texas to Idaho and well away from the oppressive heat and humidity.
2- they lose their restrictive gun control laws
3- they fence off Austin, Dallas, and Houston and make them State prisons.

Why would I want to move to a 3rd world nation? Without the backing of US Trade agreements Texas becomes more of a wasteland than it is now. The only reason any nation buys their overpriced beef and oil is because of deals with the US. Take away those deals and they all get their oil and beef from South America. Texas would be tits up in 6 months and we would need to put a fence around it to stop them from sneaking back to the US.

I am wondering about Scotland and if people will move there for a new freedom. Or will they end up with the same old socialism. If they are smart they will vote for freedom.

Scotland has in one form or another been fighting for its freedom from England for the last 700 or so years.

Thursday will just be the most recent attempt.'

I know how my step brother will be voting. And how my Step Father would have had he not been beat to death while on vacation in Plymouth England.

A little over 53% voting NO at this time. They still will be saddled with the EU even if they break from GB right?

Not so fast, some of the bigger/younger? populated cities haven't been tallied yet!
I really don't know why this interests me but for some reason I'm hoping they pull it off!
