Scored an SKS-D

NIB unfired, $500. Great find. Has all the stuff M's don't. Bayonet, cleaning rod, and kit. Kit comes with 5 pieces rather than 3, includes site adjusting tool. Also has detaching bayonet. No bolt hold open mech., no stripper clip guide. Took it out and shot the new out of it.

Time flies, only taken it out once in 3 years. Seemed like yesterday. A full mag makes it feel very heavy, though it shoots great. Just takes longer to get empty. And no bolt hold open or guide for stripper clips.

I have the neutered SKS-D that well is neutered but has the sweet PLANET OF THE APES stock ! The thing is so ugly you have to love it .

It blows my mind that in the 80's you could get multiple variants of the SKS and only cost between $40-75 . The funny thing is nobody wanted those cheap SKS's or a Mosin look at them now lol.
