I just wanted to post this here and point out the hypocrisy in our news, yes the shooting is tragic, how ever how is this any less tragic?

"Four people were killed and two others injured when a car crashed into a utility box early Saturday morning in Auburn."

http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today/2014/10/4-killed-in-auburn-crash/

in may senses this is more tragic, the two have a lot in common, one person responsible for all the deaths and injury, seemingly the person responsible knew all the others involved, and we don't know if the acr crash was intentional or not but clearly laws were being broken that resulted in the crash.

However 4 being killed in a car crash does not solicit the same response, because those that are asking for gun laws drive cars and do not want their rights infringed, and they do not see cars as an impediment to socialist rule.....yet....

I will follow that story up with this one, equally tragic....

"SACRAMENTO, Calif. (TheBlaze/AP) — The man suspected of killing two sheriff's deputies during a shooting rampage in Northern California was deported twice and has a drug conviction, federal authorities said."

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...eriffs-deputies-was-twice-deported-to-mexico/

why does this one not get the news coverage, after all, it was Cops that were shot and killed, again because it does not fit the agenda, it clearly violates the agenda, so it does not get the news coverage.

Where ever you are posting in a discussion with the liberals, ask the about the car crash, and see what their answer?

That accident was maybe a 1000 yards from my shop as the crow flies. The car was still wrapped around the pole when I came into work yesterday morning.

There should be laws against young kids drinking alcohol and then driving at excessive speeds. If only we had those then those poor kids would still be alive.

that is a good article, he covers something I have felt as well, parents are willingly or through coercion, sheltering kids from life's hardships, sports without scores, etc..... I watched a news report about a pee wee football game where a kid caught an interception and ran it the length of the field for a TD. The team was fined $500 because the TD put them over the max score set up by a mercy rule. What BS, how do you tell a kid at that age that they need to purposely not score because of a mercy rule. Life is tough, help them get ready for it.

Sounds a lot like our ROE in Iraq and Afghanistan....but that is another topic....

These sheltered kids are not ready for what life will throw at them, couple that with first person shooter games, and you have a time bomb waiting to go off......

The police have said that the 40 cal pistol was purchased legally
At his age he cannot own a pistol so this was a crime
He brought it to a gun free zone this is also a crime
He killed two girls and injured two boys that is against the law [ a crime]
Please show me where passing 594 would have changed the outcome of this ?:(

Agreed, 100%. But we already know what the I-594 / gun control playbook is:

-Ignore all logic, reason, and rationality
-Make emotional pleas about dead children
-And bring out the tired "if it'll just save one life it's worth it"
-Cry. A LOT OF CRYING.

The talking heads on TV keep talking about the shooter's social media pages...about the "troubled tweets" he made...it got me curious...so I looked.

Anyone been to this kid's twitter? Some seriously messed up stuff on there. Where the hell were the parents? Kid is 14 talking about doing drugs, tweeting all this sex stuff, talking about how big things are about to go down and how broken, sad and angry he is. Any one of those categories is a red alert where a 14 year old is concerned.

Twitter account is pretty young, but so was the shooter...age of the account is kind of suspect and supports the false flag theories...however if its legitimate...damn...just damn...

I'm in my late 20's, I don't get shocked by much and consider myself to still be pretty in tune with what being a kid is like...but DAMN man...some of this stuff is downright scary, offensive, and troubling...how did no one notice? The crap on this twitter is certainly does not fall in line with the "well-liked star athlete, homecoming king" image the media keeps painting for this bubblegum.

For those that want to take a look...and try to understand how someone this messed up causes us law abiding citizens so much grief...link below...don't say I didn't warn you...

Outstanding analogy and typical for as far back as I can remember.
It does not serve their agenda but it sure as hell shows what their agenda is
and none of them are loyal Americans that do this and they should pay a price for that.
Lets hope someday they do.

Now, let's not be bringing logic into this discussion or confusing the issue with facts.

For the banners, those on the ban-wagon, such as the Sandy Hook profiteers, this whole thing is evoking -or an opportunity to promote- an emotional response, not a rational one.

As posted earlier in the thread, it's about "DOING SOMETHING" no matter whether it would help or not, and if it would not have helped, then "maybe it will someday... FOR THE CHILDREN"

The parents and their peers are, as always, looking to blame something other than themselves- and blaming the instruments instead of the musicians is the most comfortable route for them.

Few want to look in the mirror and see reality and admit, "we screwed up, we failed as parents to instill good values in this kid."
It's much easier to hoot about new laws, as if the kind of broken thinking that caused the mess was suddenly going to fix it.

Slightly OT, but last weekend in the UK one of a bubblegum-wipe newspaper groups held a poll after publishing the most trashy piece of so-called journalism i have ever actively ignored - would the readership 'Ban guns - YES/NO?'

To the amazement of the editorial staff, the result seems to have been a resounding 90% NO vote, and this in gun-suspicious UK.

tac, living here, but not really alive, as we know it, Jim

It's not their liberty, that's the thing, it's yours; those pro-594's have no dog in the fight, really.

It'd be as though somebody had an initiative for a law prohibiting eating cow dung, I wouldn't care if it passed or not.

I get what you're saying, but in reality it is their liberty lost, especially the "undecideds".. What men have died for, they are willing to just give away in their folly

4F, the problem with armed guards, especially uniforms, is they scream "Shoot Me First"--you want plainclothes operators, preferably with "cover" roles on staff, so a perp can't know who or how many armed responses they'll face until they try and the "April Fool mo-fo, yo' *** be grass" card gets thrown onto the table.

Back when I was in college, we actually war-gamed various Active Shooter scenarios on my campus over one summer, so I speak with some amount of experience. (I was playing the "Red Force" who my buddies in Campus Safety aka "Blue Force" were sparring with.)

I'll have to disagree.
We also tie this into the idea of open carry.
Hard targets versus soft targets.
I very much doubt an armed officer screams shoot me first in an active fire situation.

Sure he'll fire at them on scene but I doubt they'd be targeted. Logic dictates most would need or want to inflict pain on their peers not on the first hard target mission ending person they could find.

I think if kids knew that bubblegum wouldn't be tolerated and the kid would be put the bubblegum down immediatly without question. You would see less and less shootings.
The pussification of our schools and America would have low info folks believe different.

With as much as we spend on law enforcement year after year after year.. Somewhere in that admin budget they could assign a few effing law enforcement officers per school instead of extorting (ticketing) hard working folks.

But on the other hand, it gins up too much cash for the county so they ain't interested unless they can make money.

The Pussifacatiin of American boys is a very real thing. American kids and especially boys have very unreal expectations. They are taught in school that they will always succeed and if you simply try that's Goodnuf. That's not the way it works in the real world as we all know. Life is often messy and painful. It is very seldom fair.

I had some very real world experience with this. My oldest son who is mostly raised in Seattle by his single mother while I was in Idaho was one of those subjected to schooling where there was no failing grade. Any time that he had a major confrontation at school his mother pulled him out of class and moved him to a different school. He was a great kid, everyone loved him. Smart, articulate and had lots of friends.

He was 19 when he hung himself, devistated that the girl he hoped to marry found another guy away at school.

I don't see it as much different that what this kid in Marysville went through other than my boy went alone. There are consequences to sheltered fairytale make believe childhoods. We are not doing our kids any justice.
