This is awesome! This is a new working definition for "Pants caught around your ankles and you're going to get spanked" file

Connecticut halts plans to round up firearms after finding most cops in the state are on the list | Call the Cops

Connecticut has been making news due to their hastily passed gun registration laws. According to some sources as few as 15% of gun owners have actually registered their firearms. News Blogs have been warning state officials are talking about mass confiscations of the unregistered firearms.

Plans for these confiscations hit a snag when a legislative intern dared to ask a question. “Who will be going door to door to take all the guns away?” asked the 21-year-old college senior.

Reportedly multiple people in the room in the most sarcastic voices they could muster said “the police”.

The unnamed intern then pointed at the list and said, “my dad’s name is on the list, and he is the police chief. I see three other names on this list of family members, all cops.”

With in hours a print off of all sworn Law Enforcement officers in the state was obtained. Comparisons of the list of gun owners who failed to comply with registration requirements and sworn LEOs showed a startling figure. Just over 68% of Connecticut cops had failed to register firearms according to the new law.

An anonymous source in the Governors office said lawmakers were dumbfounded. “Someone suggest firing all the cops who failed to register. But the reality of hiring and training that many new police officers is not practical.” The source goes on to say “Senator [redacted to protect our source] said maybe we should issue an official order to all cops to comply with registration or face termination. I mean seriously these people are a special kind of stupid to think that gun-loving cops are going to go along with this blatant violation of the 2nd Amendment.”

So now Connecticut is in little quagmire. The powers that be are making all kinds of threats, but there is no one to follow through on the threats.

No police officers or police administrators were willing to go on record for this story. Emails to members of the Connecticut legislator and Governors office were not returned by the time of publication.

DAMN! No sir I missed that part! OK- I got snookered. I apologized. You're right- if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Triple damn and some change. I bang my head against the ground on the concrete for your superior intellect and seeing that omission!

Although satire, it would not surprise me in the least if it were true!

RK, Civ,,,maybe it is true? I mean, there's an element of truth to it- police DO have gun collections. They DO collect the same kind of rifle(s) they train with due to familiarity- and the 68% quoted is probably within a realistic figure wouldn't it? Figure the other 32% are in the upper ranks and no longer walk a beat so they sold off theirs? Wonderful, now I'm confused- I can see both sides of this, and at least from the outside looking in seem totally reasonable.

Typically with satire there is a small grain of truth. Given that the quoted website specifically states nothing it posts is true and merely satire, I'll go with false. For now.

All good satire has a grain of truth. Perhaps this isn't very far from it.

The reason we know it is not true is because there is no list!! The only people who received that now-famous threatening letter were a small sub-set of people who sent in a surrender form...but LATE. Those are people who admitted owning a horrible, evil black rifle, but didn't follow the nanny state rules well enough.

There is no list of black rifle owners. Thank the Lord!

Sorry Chris but I must lovingly disagree. BATFE form #4473, specifically the top of page 3 has this information of the make, type, serial number, caliber for identification purposes. Since most of the people are law abiding citizens and have purchased these firearms in the last 6 years when the Greatest Gun Sales Person of all time, Barrack Hussein Obama this information is well recorded, unfortunately.

It took what? 3 or 4 court orders before Chicago was FORCED to destroy 40 years of illegal BATFE 4473's the city had collected to do illegal door to door gun confiscation.

Please don't think for a moment that the CSP don't know what they're doing is patently illegal- they know they can do it, and they know they won't be punished for it.
