I don't know if schadenfreude is the right word to describe my feelings, but it seems to me that the Administration now finds itself with so many issues that "gun safety" is going to get little if any attention for the next year, or even up to the 2014 elections. At that time, I hope we can vote the "gungrabbers" out of office.

If it gives you pleasure, nothing wrong with it. It's been such an egregious attack on the People that I feel only anger.

From Dictionary.com - schadenfreude: satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune.
Joy at Obongo's misfortune is perfectly fine. He is evil and his chickens are coming home to roost. I wish him failure and confusion in the name of freedom and humanity.

Unfortunately I think the Jerk in Chief is expecting to gain a majority in the House so he is buying his time. This upcoming election is going to make or break it for the guy. If he gains nothing I believe we may just make it okay, if not it will be like living in Nazi Germany.

It is a long time until the next elections...that there will be no push for more gun control may not actually be in our favor. Watch NY, CO, CT, MA, MD and NJ. The fight is still on in those states, either in the legislature or the courts. This will keep gun owners from being complacent between now and the next election... gun control will be on the front burner in those campaigns.

But what about elsewhere? Do you know how close WA and OR was to doing the same thing as CO? If Inslee has his way, they will make a second run at it in the special session. We cannot drop our guard, and we do need to keep gun grabbing up front and center in our minds and not get slack between now and the next election cycle.

The admin played a big hand with their push for gun control, and they came up worse than they ever expected. I'm absolutely positive that they expected this to wash over with ease after Newtown. The defeat in the senate was just icing on the cake. It's certainly not over, but it appears to me that the admin severely overreacted, pushed way too hard, and pegged the BS meters of many people who were not even particularly interested in 2A rights before hand. The political theater was too much; they just couldn't help themselves, and with the constant theatrics by the president and Biden, their motives became transparent. With scandal after scandal in recent weeks, along with renewed attention on Fast & Furious and Benghazi (they thought these two went away), they are facing some serious heat. The fact that major media outlets are throwing around the word "impeachment" just six months into Obama's second term is pretty incredible. Yep - the Obama administration has literally lost all credibility in the first six months of its second term.

But will the electorate remember all these scandals in two years? What will the Main Stream Media have on the front-burner then in order to distract from O's record? Will the Republicans be able to review the Dem's history of parliamentary abuse? Will General Hospital return to daytime? :)

There's more coverage of Jody Arias' sex life than any of these important issues. In general, the public isn't interested in liberty and would rather be titillated.

Let's not forget the dropping of the Black Panther voter intimidation case in Philly and Fast & Furious either. Fort Hood is still a case of "workplace violence". The Socialist in Chief and his elite have reigned with impunity. They've shaped the average citizens perceptions and will continue to be masters of the bold lie.

I don't know where it goes from here.

guns will likely be a fair part of the elections and you could count on florida going to who ever is the most pro-gun. happens to be a state huge on self-defense rights, even though it is a swing state.

why is it ok for the government of the U.S. give guns to syrian alquieda but they don't want me to have legal semi-automatic rifle? are we at war against alquida or not? if we are at war with them then the term for giving aid and comfort to an enemy of this U.S. is defind as treason is it not?

He may be on the ropes for now, but I think this snake has a few more twists left. I will do my part to keep the pressure on.

Are we at war with Al Qaeda? America is, the president is not.
Are we giving weapons to Syrian rebels? So far, (from what I have been able to glean from - mostly conservative - news, we have only given "non-lethal" aid to the Syrians.
Why can't you have a semi-automatic rifle? Because you live in California, where the Constitution means nothing.

    9. All political discussion must be directly related to firearms, gun rights, or the second amendment.

There are many different people here with many different viewpoints on various issues. Like religion, discussing these issues here is highly likely to offend and very little good can come of it. We need to be focusing on the things that bring us together (firearms), not the things that have the potential to divide us (politics).
