You wouldn't think this bill has anything to do with firearm legislation, but it does.
Here is the testimony of one who supports this handout. - This is public information

Submitter: Laurie Palmer On Behalf Of: Committee: Senate Committee On Housing and Development Measure: SB603 Date: March 1, 2023 TO: Chair Jama, Vice-Chair Anderson, and Members of the Committee,
From: Laurie Palmer
My name is Laurie Palmer and I live in Portland Oregon. I am an Oregon renter submitting testimony in favor of SB 603. Guaranteed income is a way to recognize everyone's inherent dignity, it provides agency and increased opportunity I am a mother, grandmother, survivor of gun violence, foster parent and community activist against gun violence. All these titles are very stressful and sometimes challenging positions that need extra finances to help ease the lack of finances. An extra $1,000 a month would help me get my business up and running also help with gas money for outreach to communities affected by violence. l Thank you for hearing this important bill and for considering my testimony. I hope you will listen to people like me and vote yes on SB 603.

Finally, a legislative measure that will produce tangible results.
This will greatly reduce the number of homeless camping on the streets.
Upon receipt of the $1,000.00 they will run down the street and score a huge amount of drugs and OD.
Problem solved.

Its interesting that to her dignity has a monetary value, and that forcing others to give someone money for them to have dignity, solves the issue of less or no dignity.
This is where socialism collapses on itself.

Let's say they get $1k month. I assume they'll mostly blow it on bullcrap rather than to pay down debt or save to buy a house or some other thing that might actually lift them out of poverty. I don't have faith in the poor to make responsible choices with my money

Lets say they use the money positively, then what? How does giving someone money teach them to make more money?
Its like teaching someone to fish by giving them free fish... doesnt make sense.

Anything goes these days. Look at who the sinaloa cartel funds these days.
Oh don't forget Sam Bankman-Fried. He funded the Oregon Demo's.

LOL. What does she need money for, to post stuff on Facebook? Who is forcing her to work as a "community activist"? Lots of people are hiring. How about maybe let the cops do their jobs and get out of the way and stop asking us to pay for her hobbies.
