I've also tried to have this conversation with people. All I get is "ITS MY RIGHT!" I just sadly shake my head. I understand it our right but actions have consequences. This is how I see the majority of open carry and all these protests. It's a statement. A statement that hurts the overall cause. We have to partially blame ourselves for the aftermath. I know this will ruffle feathers but it's just my opinion. We will eventually all be criminals. I'd much rather go unnoticed. Especially with the way politics and the view on firearms is currently directed.
sounds like the last boss i had, you were right---BUT!!! guess i missed the part of politics and views being written into the bill of rights.

Looks like the bill goes to the Oregon House on Monday March 29. I'll be emailing all the Republicans asking them to walk out. I'm also going to write all the Democrats and ask them to think about how stupid they are going to look after the first mass shooting at a school, when people remind them that it is because of Oregon Democrats that people in the school were not able to defend their lives.

Let's melt the phone and email lines.

Schedule is at the bottom under "Scheduled events":

Republican House Members email addresses and phone numbers: (Many of them allow you to just leave a message so you can do it 24/7 - hopefully someone will actually listen to our messages.) More in next post.

"School districts are powerless to keep parents from bringing guns to parent-teacher conferences or to sporting events; city councils and county commissions cannot keep audience members from bringing firearms to contentious debate," Burdick said. "In the Oregon Capitol we cannot keep angry protesters from bringing loaded AR-15s into the building. And yes, that has actually happened."

So incredibly stupid... So, did the AR-15 carrier have a CHL???? How do you conceal that? Did they wear a full Dick Tracy trench coat? The AR-15 isn't exactly the first firearm I think of for concealed carry.

Guess what? A stupid piece of paper with the governor's signature, or a stupid "no guns" sign isn't going to give any teacher any power to stop something they don't even know is there
because it's CONCEALED..... what a dumbarse she is.

THIS! It's how I live my life. Haha. No metal detectors, no problems.

I've taken to meditation to bring my blood pressure down when I see insanity of politics nationally and at the state level. I've found that reading passages from history help me center myself. I'll share my daily with you here for today:

" I do not know whether it is to yourself or Mr. Adams I am to give my thanks for the copy of the new constitution. I beg leave through you to place them where due. It will be yet three weeks before I shall receive them from America. There are very good articles in it: and very bad. I do not know which preponderate. What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a Chief magistrate eligible for a long duration, if I had ever been disposed towards one: and what we have always read of the elections of Polish kings should have forever excluded the idea of one continuable for life. Wonderful is the effect of impudent and persevering lying. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusetts? And can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it's motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion.1 The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusetts: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen yard in order. I hope in god this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted."

Also, since I'm feeling very zen today, I want to share some helpful advice for those of you planning to email state legislators.

Don't start your emails with, "Hey, c**t." They may be, but it doesn't engage well.

Here was Sen. Findley's excuse for not standing up for our rights:
"Walking out for the duration of session wouldn't be practical, realistic, or wise. Over 140,000 Oregonians are counting on me to show up for all the issues in Salem and that's what I have sworn to do."

Guess Findley has no intentions of upholding his oath of office as it relates to defending and protecting the Constitution of the State of Oregon or The United States of America. Just another tool that refuses to do the job they were elected to.

Spineless...

That's the same form letter I got.

Part of me agrees and the other part thinks these spineless turds need to hear it. The Leftist are not going to play ball with the GOP.

I get the sense that Findley thinks he deserves a medal for taking it in the arse with no lube by the Leftists.

The only thing Findley or any of the other five have done is to allow the leftist to ram through any legislation they deem fit. They don't need GOP input or votes making Findley, et al, irrelevant except for establishing a quorum.

I am sure his constituents will love it when the left bans diesel fuel but, hey, at least he was there making his constituents proud.
