Get some new friends already, every gun owner I know VOTES.
Know any gun owners on this site? LOT of them tell people not to bother to vote, or throw their vote away, or even better actually vote for the people hosing us. So I'm glad "every gun owner" you know votes well. The sad fact is WAY too many of them support us getting hosed one way or another.

I do see the people on here that proudly admit to voting my rights away.
Not going to start sheet with them, but people that want me disarmed are definitely not my friends.

This is why at every election getting those who claim they want rights to help each other is like herding cats. It would be funny except we keep losing :(

[sarcasm] I for one expect this will curtail random nonsense shootings on state fairgrounds and at kiddie schools. Because the folks that do those things observe the law. [/sarcasm]

I long ago stopped going to downtown Seattle for just that reason. We used to enjoy going down there to knock around for the day. Get something to eat, couple drinks, shopping at all the little shops. Even during the day it got to where I was just not comfortable. At night? You would not get me to any of the sights down there at night at gun point.

As long as the prevailing wisdom is that a Dem voter can't have their views on 2a changed without changing all their other views so they become a Red voter we will continue to lose on 2a issues.
Agree with this but man is this a long lonely road. Virtually none of my liberal friends care about gun rights and are convinced guns are the cause of crime.

Ive been surprised over the last year to learn how many gun owners in here oppose electing Trump or state Republicans because of the bump stock ban or other reasons, as if the Democrat alternative isnt actively working for more gun control.

I see this same thing a LOT. :( Between that and the gun owners who make every excuse in the book to not vote? We keep getting hosed. There are several new laws being pushed this year since we sent the same people back to do it again. Suspect we will get a few more good new laws this year too 🤬

I agree with you but ultimately both Oregon and Washington indeed are outnumbered with anti gun voters, we shouldn't be getting these initiatives in the first place.

Are we outnumbered? Of course. The sad reality is too many gun owners use that as an excuse to refuse to vote and we lose. Last time we had a shot at one stupid law we needed about 325K signatures to give it another shot. We could not get that. So I have a REAL hard time believing there is not 325K gun owners in WA state. If those who keep telling me not to bother to vote really are correct and we only have a 300K gun owners here? Then no point in bothering to complain. May as well join them and sit out elections and watch as we lose.

True and a lot more simply say 'my vote for the president doesn't count' - and then apply this to everything and then do not vote for anything.

I understand due to the electoral college it is easy to see one's vote NOT counting - If I recall only one time in history did Oregon's numbers count for a president, however their votes WOULD count on a lot of other things - specifically the State issues.

I try to explain this to many.
