Savage Scope setup advice

I just picked up a Savage 12FV in 22-250 with a heavy brl. A friend gave me a BSA 6X24X40 Huntsman scope and I am trying to figure out what mountings are available and will work for me.

most any brands have the size you need

however, I prefer something other than the weaver style mounts (my personal preference)

I use both the one-piece and two-piece Leupold mounts - they're rock solid!

I have a Savage 12 BVSS in .22-250 and I used a B-Square one piece base and Leupold PRW rings (Medium for 40mm objective lens)
with a Nikon 6-18x40 scope.

Only put 2 boxes down range so far - sighting in and a few extras. So far I'm very happy. Groups under 1/2" at 100 yards without having to try too hard. I'm sure If I bench rested it could get down to 1/4" at 100.

These Savage 12s are fantastic out of the box.

Thanks for the replies.
I went with the two-piece Leupold mounts.
Now to get the scope mounted and send some rounds down range.
