For sale is my Savage Model 6A .22lr tube-fed rifle. This rifle does not have a serial number so it is difficult to determine exact age, but it appears to have been made in the early 1940's (pre WWII) through the basic research that I have done (checkered grips apparently mean pre war). I have fired the rifle and it functions flawelssly with the 100 or so rounds that I have put through it.
The Savage Model 6A is commonly referred to as the "Gill Gun" due to the serrations on the side of the receiver. It will shoot .22 short, long, and long rifle. It can also function as a bolt action rifle by "locking" the bolt in place. This allows the use of the shorts without causing malfunctions.
