does this rifle have the fluted Barrel and the MB, is it magazine fed or single shot? is it in the laminated stock?

Have you thought about swapping barrels? You have the perfect setup and it's not that tough on that savage. Same bolt face too.

@ erudne yes it has the fluted heavy barrel SS no mag but holds 3+1.

Barrel cost is dependent on what you want. Length, chamber and manufacturer. I've seen new barrel kits under $200. Gander mountain and quite a few others out there can get you a decent barrel.
