Sarah's hot!! Gives me a shiver up my leg! Greydog.

I have to wonder if Sarah Palin looked like Nancy Pelosi would she have the same following? Don’t get me wrong I think she is pretty hot, but if we are just after some hot chick that is folksy (a.k.a. “Hick” and I can use that because I am one) I say we go this route in 2012.

Palin's niche may only be as a fundraiser for conservative causes, and that's okay because for the moment at least, she is good at it.
I think she will be a force for conservative issues for quite awhile, whether she ever holds another political office or not.

It's too bad the press went after her so zealously in '08. I believe they systematically destroyed her, and McCain's team wasn't up to snuff in their handling/scheduling of interviews.

I know a few Alaskans, and they all respect her and would have her back as Governor if the lefties would let her do her job and not hound her into bankruptcy with lawsuits. And for those that call her a quitter, you try doing your job with the level of (legal) distractions she had. The people of Alaska deserved a Governor that could devote at least the majority of their time to the state, not to lawsuits.
There are MANY Alaskans that are pissed over the whole deal, and have lost ALL respect for the left movement.

Personally I think the country would be better off with her than Obama, but she may not be electable to the office.
I think the next conservative president would be foolish not to find a cabinet post for her though.
Secretary of energy fits.
Secretary of interior would work too I think.

You really think she would have fewer legal distractions as president than she did as governor? As the saying goes if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

The "kitchen" as you call it in Alaska's case was overrun with left wing zealots filing suit after suit. Alaskan's weren't getting their money's worth out of an elected official that couldn't perform her duties as Governor because of the time needed to defend herself against every frivolous lawsuit that could be brought.
Curiously enough, since she left office the lawsuits have all but stopped. They drove her from office by abusing the right to bring civil suit. A less ethical person would have stayed in office and collected her paycheck for doing less than half her job. (see Rob Blagojevich)
And no, she wouldn't have had near the legal distractions as President, and would have had a legal team handle the issues for her.

And if you know people in Alaska, ask a few of them how they feel about it.
Everyone I know up there sees what happened as a witch hunt, pure and simple.

This doesn't really surprise me that the people you know feel that way. The friends I have up there now from when I lived there in the mid 80's feel she's a quitter and disingenuous at best, and every single one of them voted for her.

I have mixed feelings on this one. Love my 870 it has never disappointed me, while Sarah Palin does every time she opens her mouth. I would love to get behind her, but she just comes off to me as being dumb as a box of rocks.

I apologize in advance to all her fans:D

Why apologize for telling the truth? She is charismatic, which is enough for many. She's too dumb for me. It was only a month ago she was on TV sending a message to President Obama, "Drill baby drill.", in response to his questioning which offshore leases should be opened up. Seems one major spill in the gulf shut her up on THAT topic. Too bad it doesn't cause her to shut up on all topics she doesn't understand — at least until she has educated herself as to what she's talking about!

If the leftys in the EPA and Greenpeace had let us drill closer and shallower than the BP mess, any leaking could have been stopped in the first day.
When will you people learn that the more difficult you make it for energy companys to do business, the more difficult it is to remedy problems.
Are you a friggin luddite? (if you don't know what that is, look it up).
Will you be content to sit in the dark and curse the lack of light?
Sara has more natural intellect than you can quantify. Just because she talks all down home does'nt mean she is stupid.
Greydog, out and prowling. :s0155:

Funny that we can blame a lack of maintenance, and cutting corners to make a buck on the lefty’s. I wish I could get away with that at work.

On the “friggin luddite” comment, and yes I did have to look it up and got a great little history lesson in the process, Thanks. I think Neo-Luddite may be closer to the mark.

As for talking “down home” not meaning you are stupid, that is absolutely correct. To bad for Sarah that doesn't apply.

I know of several pretty ignorant people that use big fancy words just to make themselves sound smart.

Last time I checked this country had elected one as President.

I don’t know what irritates me more the stupid hick in the dress or the articulate well dressed idiot.

Luddites were anti-industrialists. I'm far from one. In fact, my first degree was in manufacturing engineering. I support industry, but I also know the purpose of industry is to improve lives of people so I know industry must be regulated. Without regulation we would have the robber-barons of the late 19th century with rivers catching fire because of all the pollution.

My problem is with Sarah the 20-second sound bite. She says down-homey sounding things that are good for the stock market whether she understands them or not. Sadly, many of them are not good for the country. All that seems to matter to her is she attracts attention & contributions to her war-chest.

Don't forget it was a Republican administration that largely deregulated the oil industry. It was an Republican administration that let this well go in without demanding state-of-the-art protection to prevent blowouts even though countries like Brazil require them. And, It was an Republican administration that let this well go in without a complete environmental study or a plan for how they would plug a blowout if one occurred. Sarah made it clear that if she had been elected oil companies would have been turned lose to drill as they saw fit. Her quote, "Drill baby drill!". We are starting to get over the damage done to this country by the dumbest President in our history — it would be foolish to choose another DUMB person to lead our country or fill any important position just because a portion of the electorate identifies with their down-homey style. The issues are not with THe left ON THIS ISSUE.

Don't get me wrong, I have problems with the left too. I would love to see a rifle team in EVERY high school. I hate "handouts" to anyone that isn't an invalid although I believe in giving people a "hand up" so they can be a more productive member of society. I would like to see a national ID card as that seems to be the only way to identify illegal aliens among us. Our borders MUST be secure. This is not a left versus right debate. It's about whether we should elect the best & brightest or a cute idiot.

So--- yer gonna sit in the darkness and curse the light? Use that giant brain for a little close contact with logic and reason. We are at least 30 years away from a viable alternative source of energy. We make it harder to obtain fossil fuels, more costly for natural gas, legislate nuke energy out of existance, solar is not efficient. What do you suggest? Giant mirrors in the desert? Oh, wait, the horned toad might be inconvienenced. Maybe your engineering degree can reverse engineer alien tecnology.
Luddite comment was a generalism that I probably shouldn't have used. Perhaps a "TOOL" would be more appropriate!.
Cute idiot? What the bubblegum do you think we have now? A socialist cypher! Not cute, but certainly an Idiot!
"Darn you, you Light! why can't you be darkness?"
Greydog.

One of the most gratifying and horrifying things (at the same time) about this great country of ours is that some of you vote.

Thomas Jefferson's greatest fear with our experiment in republican governance was giving the vote to those that do not know civics. That is why he became a champion of mandatory public education & why we have public schools across this country. Sadly, over the last 30 years civics has largely been dropped from the curriculums.

Probably another reason Texas is marginalizing Jefferson in their textbooks.

Not saying I'd vote for Sara, Just saying that to demean her for her speaking style is sexist, condescending, morally bankrupt, and narrow minded. Do you think for one minute that Obama is an intellectual giant? My God, man, He uses a teleprompter all the time. Further, when he goes off the prompter, he shoots himself in the foot. Your vote cancels mine. That, for me, is the most painful thing. I study, research, and investigate my choices for office before I vote. Do you? There is more integrity in Sara Palin than Obama can quantify. He has a steep curve to climb yet. His syncophants are scrambling to overcome their lies and shortcomings. Rahm--- What a scary dude. Dead Fish Emannuel. Thats a good name for the guy. Chief of staff? More like Goeblels. Minister of propaganda! Greydog.

Yes, I'd say that researching candidates is generally something that I and others do.

As far as your integrity reference on Palin, I can offer up two easy words on that one: Mike Wooten.

Wind power is now cost effective. (I know that because I worked on the contracts for the Horizon wind farm in western NY.) I support a massive investment in wind turbines and the electrical grid so the power can be moved where it's needed. If we do this as a public works project, as was done to build our interstate road network, and mandate a large percentage in US made products, we can greatly reduce our need for middle eastern oil and put Americans to work in good-paying jobs making and installing the equipment. The environmental benefits would be gravy.

I support offshore drilling but I do not support offshore drilling without using the best technology to protect the environment. We let the oil companies make tens of billions in the last 10 years but didn't require them to build equipment to plug blowouts. That lack of oversight was foolish & we are paying for it in the gulf today.

Public schools mandated by politicians, funded by fiat, staffed by liberal union thugs. Curriculum voted on by leftest, socialist, unionist, self promoting teachers. They need to teach the constitution, bill of rights, founders, federalist papers, and stop the revisionist history lessons. The national teachers union wants to start history in this country at 1920. Woodrow Wilson? WTF! the guy was a socialist pig. (Democrat by the way). Greydog.
