I'm considering using an old freezer as an ammo safe! Add a couple hasps. I dunno, not very sexy!

A used pop vending machine would be cool too. They have the coin mech in the 6" door and another door behind that section with the compartment for the pop. You would have the lock on the door and could have another on the internal door lock/hasp. Ammo in the bottom would make it very heavy too. Some non working are for sale on Craigslist for $100 or so. Theres one on Craigslist in Corvallis now cheap or offer.
