I'm pretty sure they're always like that. I vaguely remember you just use a dremel or grind off the head and then tap the pin out with a punch and unscrew it with a wrench, the flat parts. they all can be changed

I am pretty sure there is a daniel defense bolt carrier group ( the thing that fires the bullet, the main operating part of the gun) and also I put some tubes of oil in the stock. I think I even hid an extra firing pin in it too.

I just double checked, your right. I bought this rifle for about 1200 or 1300. It is 14.5 inch and the pinned flash hider is to make it 16 inch legal. This is the TS version really expensive. Here's the specs M&P®15 TS | Smith & Wesson
