S&W: K Frame Grips On X Frame Guns

When researching wood grips for my new X frame S&W 500 I saw some conflicting information regarding whether K?L or N frame grips would fit the X frame revolver. This should clear it up for the few people that are confused.

Yeah, I'm thinking Past or other padded recoil grips would be a must with wood grips. I like the factory S&W rubber or santoprene or whatever on my X-frame.

Bumping an old thread since I just picked up an X-frame revolver. I'd really like to replace the rubber grips with a nice wood. I was looking at the line Hogue offers but was wondering if there are other recommended makers. And from what I understand, K-frame grips are what I should grab.

Not sure about going the other way but, I know its popular to put the x-frame grips on n-frames, especially the alloy frame .44 Magnums...
