I got one for a woman who can not work the slides
on my XD's; but is it +P rated or do I have to be
really careful on ammo selection??

It's the K-frame. It's not aluminum. It's the same gun as the 357 although they called the 357 version the Model 65. I'd say yes it's +p rated and to back me up, S&W says it is.

Yes it definitely is. I have the same gun and shoot +p through it regularly.
