The first versions of this pistol did not have rails on them, but the later version did.
I'm not sure what you mean by the magazine disconnect?

Smith was notorious/infamous for their magazine disconnects... ie gun will not fire if the magazine is not in place.

I have the non-TSW version of this and love it. They(S&W) won't upgrade the frame with the rail though. 'their lawyers' say it's a bad idea. But having a smith do it would add that nice little rail to the weapon.

The first generation TSW models were produced without the rail. This gun is legit.
