(This is my first ad... I hope I get this all right..)
I have what I think is a S&W pre-model 10 M&P .38 with a 5" barrel.
I took it on trade, and don't know much about them.
It appears to be in fine shape, with only light holster wear on the bluing.
My son and I shot a box of shells through it, and it shoots just fine.
It comes with a full flap leather holster and two boxes of ammo.
I'd guess the value to be $325-350.
I'm looking to trade for a KelTec folding carbine, or a S&W MP15-22.
Would consider most anything, though, so don't be afraid to ask.
FTF in WA.

Thanks for the interest, and any possible info.

Nice old Smith made when "quality and workmanship" meant something....

A contemporary source indicates the S prefix postwar guns began as early as December 27, 1944 at around serial number S769000. Others report Sept. 1945 beginning at S811120. It is reported that at S990184, Apr 7, 1948, the new short action was introduced, becoming the now familiar Model 10 in 1957."

If original grips, they to should be serial numbered to the revolver.

PM's replied to. I appreciate the cash offers, and I may end up taking cash, but I'd really prefer to trade. I'd also consider a 'bump in the night' handgun with attached light.
