Here is a US marked 1917 in 455/ 45 lc. To the best of my knowledge this was probably a project gun for someone at one time. Has Canadian proofs and has a gold bead sight installed.

Appears to be a second model hand ejector revolver as the british named it supplied on lend lease or purchased for the Canadian army. The commonwealth also purchased some in the interwar years to supply the Canadian army if memory serves. The US was also selling them as surplus to foreign armys between the wars as they were thought to be out dated and replaced by the 1911. I can't recall or find how the frames were marked. But I believe they were possibly just left marked as standard a us 1917 on the butt.

Very interesting revolver and dang you for putting it up this close to Christmas!

I have seen a few of these with shaved cylinders to converted to .45 acp. And a few bored through to allow .45 colt to be fired in the .455 chambers. Does yours still throats in the chambers ?
