Cerakoting costs more i think, then bluing, then parkerizing as the cheapest....

Velzey can blue and parkerized too. I'm sure he has a range of good options.

Don't know if it's cheaper, but Hydro dipping can seal up and protect for a time, until the parts wear through the coating, but it's going to do that with ANY coating!

Jon @NWCustomFirearms does some amazing work refinishing guns - I spent a better part of an hour admiring some of the work he does and I'm a perfectionist so little details are what catch my eye.

He's a very friendly and knowledgable guy as well.

Lol We can reblue it but for an 870 express your best bet for rust control would probably be cerakote. For bluing I would just need blast it and blue it for a matte finish. For cerakote you should be under $200 but shoot me a message and we can go over everything

I can't quite tell from the picture but it looks like the original finish has worn through to the meta..so refinishing would be your best bet.

That said, Renaissance Wax is fantastic stuff. If you're looking for a cheap solution to try, that would be on my short list. You'll find a ton of other uses for it too, so if it doesn't solve your problem it's not money down the drain.
