Showing an absolute absence of strategic awareness, Biden stated that US policy is to not intervene militarily if Russia invades Ukraine. The US would instead initiate sanctions against Russia. Wow, doesn't that sound frightening? Poor Putin must be shaking in his boots. Nothing like showing your hand to the opposition. What a total buffoon Brandon is, and we are paying the price...

Threatening Russia with sanctions is like expecting a drop in crime by threatening criminals with probation. Dumb. Dumber. Dumbest.

What leverage do you think we have exactly? Do you think that the US is in the position of being able to do anything militarily against Russia that wouldn't end in Russia taking retaliatory action against the US ? Even if they only targeted military targets they could put every carrier task force we have at the bottom of the ocean in about 45 minutes. Yeah, we could strike back and they could strike back harder and we could strike back harder . End of the day they're gone and we're gone.

Direct military action against the Russians isnt impossible . Its just really, really impractical. We know it. They know it.

Yeah I do. Russia would literally stop at nothing to prevent an invasion of the homeland. Russia sees Ukraine much the way China sees Taiwan . You dont hear the same news from Russia I hear. Russian news media is firing up the "fascist" talk about Ukraine again. Nothing gets them worked up like threats of Fascism. Its hard to put into words the hatred Russians have of Fascism.

If NATO blusters and threaten sanctions Europe freezes. If we supply enough air and tank defense with little blue men to train on it and we sanction Russia out of the world banking system, we could force Putin to choose his destruction if he invades Ukraine. We can be exporting gas by next winter and putin can't risk his pipeline through Ukraine until his new one to Germany is online.
