"Konoshchenok was stopped at the Estonian border with 35 different types of semiconductors…, as well as thousands of U.S.-made 6.5mm bullets, which are used in military sniper rifles."

On November 24, 2022, Konoshchenok was again stopped attempting to cross into Russia with approximately twenty cases containing thousands of U.S.-origin bullets, including tactical rounds and .338 military sniper rounds. Konoshchenok discussed "fabricating" business records with Livbubblegums to conceal the ammunition shipments, on one occasion describing them as "auto parts."

Time to dust off Project Eldest Son ?

Maybe we can do the same to resume shipments to the us of cheap wolf and Tula and just have them shipped as "car parts" 🤔
I always wonder about that sort of thing. Stuff in containers going entirely unchecked from China including god knows what.

Reminds me of that movie War Dogs with Jonah Hill. He bypassed some import law by repackaging (If I recall right) Russian ammo into some other countries label and selling it to the US military. I want to say it was loosely based on real events.

Another "reporter" who doesn't know the difference between a bullet and a round. . .
Interesting, in all fairness that's the actual DOJ press release from Merrick Garland's staff in Brooklyn.

Hopefully the actual indictment does not muddle "bullet" with "round", but I'm not blowing $3.00 to check on PACER.

Guessing full match-grade rounds were being imported for 338 though, since the Novosibirsk factory already produces 338 Lapua bullets.
