1) Out of city limits
2) a good backstop
3) 250 feet away from any dwelling.

Skamania county is a bit threadbare when it comes to organization.

As a fifty-year resident of Skamania County I will say this; just don't do anything stupid. Use your head and it's not likely anyone will care. Lots of people have ranges on their property. The owner of the property you are going to use should know the neighbors well enough to know if someone is likely to complain. I know of two long-term residents with ranges that had new neighbors complain. They told the neighbors to get stuffed and the sheriff agreed. End of complaints.
The only city limits in the entire county is Stevenson. They may have some silly rules.

Have you tried contacting the Guy/Gal that owns the Property and ask permission???

Go Shooting and Remember to Clean Up when you leave. And if you find other other garbage, take it out too. If there's a building you might want to leave a note.

That's what I meant... entering private land w/o permission can get one prosecuted. Color me confused!!
