I am anxiously awaiting early reports on the Ruger SR1911.

    Ruger® SR1911™ Centerfire Pistol Models

The web site says it's due out this month. Does anyone know who will have these in stock? Can't wait to at least fondle one on the gun counter.

It appears that the frames are investment castings, the slides are forged and the rest machined - as far as I can tell. I haven't seen anything that indicates that they are using mim components.
