Nice! I am looking for a GP, but this caught my eye. What's the weight? Recoil? I have an ice 357, thing is a mule. Is this any better? Looking for it as backpacker gun to load with hot 357's. The off doest handle hot 357 rounds too we'll, it'[ become my 38 special. More info would be great. Thx

Ruger lists the weight at around 25oz.

Recoil isn't bad on the .38's, very enjoyable to shoot. .357 is a bit of a bear though. The Hogue grip does help to tame things a bit.

The other issue with .357 in the shorter barrel is that you'll lose a bit of velocity, since the powder won't burn completely by the time the projectile leaves the barrel.

Those boot grips are crucial in my opinion. Made the gun fantastic! I love mine. Great price, I'm surprised it's still here honestly.
