Huh. Interesting. I wonder why they would do that, unless they caught it after it came off the line and that was their solution to not having to renumber all the other guns afterwards or something like that?
 
I have heard of that being the solution from other manufactures also. They are caught at the time of the error and preceded with an alternate code. Not sure it adds any value though.
 
Worth a bunch more than $25 to me if I happened to have the mate to it. Even as a very nice shooter, someone is missing out by not picking this one up at this price.
 
Maybe the original receiver was damaged in the manufacturing process and was replaced and marked with the "D" to denote it for the records, same as U.S. currency is with a "Star" after the serial number.
