I got done cleaning my Romanian Surplus magazines. I thought one had rust but I used some CLP and got the preservative off. I did get one that a huge amount of sand in it. Not sure where the magazines came from.
Sand inside the magazine. I used old pieces of T-shirts. I threw the sand covered one out when I done cleaning all the sand out.
Thought it was rust but I was mistaken but it cleaned up very nice.
