Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
It's way past time to disallow the indians to gill net the rivers
I remember my childhood in the early 1970s and an entire summer spent along a coastal N Cali river in my dad's RV.. he was a heavy construction guy working on a HWY. We just parked down near the stream bed all alone and were never bothered.I spent my days fishing and exploring
I absolutely agree Blitzkrieg. If their going to be allowed to net, then it has to be with no modern equipment such as motorized boats, or poly netting that wont rot when lost. This is the 500 Lb. gorilla in the room that no one wants to touch.
I'd like to see them get rid of ALL nets period but I know its wishful thinking, and they'll be killing everything that swims til all the salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon are gone. At the very most let tribes and commercials fish every five years and let the runs recover a bit. It would nice to see some real stream/river recovery along the lines of getting rid of the trash and the logging leftovers as well.
I grew up on the Smith river. And did a little fishing on the klamath. Both amazing rivers. However the native netting has destroyed the runs. Also the dam in klamath falls oregon hasn't helped.
