I think that chapter has not begun (YET?), right now you see Liberals only being the wack jobs they are. I love riots like this as it just reaffirms the mental instability of Liberals. I also love the police getting abused by the Liberals as it also reaffirms for LE's that law abiding gun owners are not part of such Chaos.
Just remember our forefathers did not go stand naked in front on England and start yelling at them. They were calculated and responded ( not reacted) to Tyranny. The big issue is the may day rallies have tied themselves since 2006 with the illegal alien amnesty day. So yes they are bigger, swelled by the ranks of illegals.

As a former resident of los angeles, the "day without an illegal" was one of the best days of my life, every minor nuisance that all combine together to make living in LA a nightmare simply disappeared that day, traffic everywhere was light I got through my regular list of chores and errands so quickly, I managed to handle all the running around I needed to do for the week.

All it did was reaffirm in my mind that deportation is the best solution, and I think it showed a lot of other people that removing the illegal alien population would be a good thing. As a consequence, they have never done a rally as big.

My plan is this...

Bring our troops home and station them on the borders and as port inspection teams, searching all cargo containers for illegals and contraband

Use the Border Patrol exclusively as an internal search and deal with system, going from business to business and demanding status of all employees

Illegal aliens.. first arrest 2 years hard labor fixing border fence damage done, restoring animal desert habitat they are destroying, and cleaning up gang graffiti and other trash issues in our parks and along our byways. Chipped upon sentence

2nd arrest, death penalty

Initiating a draconian program like you're talking about will not work out that well, main thing is, now you have created a human rights issue.

The illegals are here for two reasons: Mexico and most of south american isn't particularly safe, the second, this is where the money is.

Rather than spending billions of dollars per year on drug interdiction efforts that decrease the stability of central and south america, institute a policy of simply purchasing all the drugs with american farm products, specifically corn and wheat. This feeds the people who are on the production side of the drug war. The limitation is, it must be purchased at a rate that is commenserate with the production capacity of the land on which the farmers grow drugs. Greatly increasing the penalties for smuggling, but reducing the penalties for production or possession will make it more attractive to the farmers to grow food crops instead of drug crops. This will take care of the safety issues.

The next would be an honest to god guest worker program. The H1B system works fairly well for skilled labor, there is no reason not to have an unskilled labor worker program. However there is no need for a "path to citizenship", instead the program will provide a mechanism where farm workers can enter the US, work, and then go home. For this system to work, exhaustive enforcement must be done, and creating severe penalties for employers is necessary.

Illegal immigration is a problem for citizens of the US, as it distorts the job market, creates a culture of lawlessness, at the same time it takes advantage of the illegals as their status means employers can have workers deported for reporting mistreatment, low pay, lack of pay. There were more than a few situations where employers would "hire" a person for a few weeks, and then when it was time to give them a paycheck: "Oh look, INS is here".

Having worker's come in from foreign countries is not the problem, the problem is business and government are colluding to take advantage of the situation which screws the citizens of the US, and while it may help the citizens of other countries slightly, in reality it's screwing them too, they just don't realize it.
