We had a great meeting today, Thanks to the 20 or so volunteers who came out to help. We are planning a super saturday signature day 6/6/15. We'll have a coordinated plan to send out as many signature gatherers as possible around the district collecting signatures. We'll have maps and a coordinated plan of where we all go. We will be having some advertisements in some local papers promoting the website this week as well.

We'll also have our table set up in salem next weekend promoting the recalls.

If anyone wants to help, save the date for 6/6/15. More details soon.

Well, under existing federal law....
Legalized pot at the state level is still a federally controlled substance. Pot and guns don't mix.

It's not a "provision." In order to purchase a firearm you will no have to fill out a 4473. On the form it asks if you use illegal drugs. Pot is federally an illegal drug. If you lie on the form, that's a felony.

Reminder, we are having our Super Saturday volunteer event this weekend. 6/6 at Magnolia park at 9:30am

we will break into teams or individuals and target areas for the district to collect signatures. I'll have muffins and donuts for the morning and pizza for the afternoon when we are done.

We are still a 100% volunteer effort. If the recall is to be successful we need everyone who can help to show up. Even if you go out, collect a single signature and come back for pizza it is going to be helpful. Show the unions who are trying to shut us down, show the republicans who are threatening people who help us, and show the democrats who are taking your rights away that we will not let them roll over us.

Our volunteers are reporting there are people who are very excited to sign petition. We just need to get to them.

One of our volunteers got handed this today. Its is being funded by a democrat group to oppose the recalls. The democrats are against us and the local republican leadership is specifically telling people to not work with us. We cant win with both party's as enemies without volunteers to gather signatures. We now have had 2 meetings where we have suspected spies from the Democrats who have tried to infiltrate our meetings.

If you want to make a statement that these people dont get to dictate your lives, come out one weekend and help us out

Even if you are outside the district, you can help gather signatures. Live far away, but know someone else who does live in the district and feels the same way? Give them a call. They may not even know that there is a recall going on.

Pointing out an anomaly like former State Republican Scott Bruun's name attached to a Pro Riley flyer doesn't negate the facts of SB941 passing on a near party line Democrat Vote.
I'd advise anyone reading this to Vote Republican, keep Voting Republican and get your friends and family to do the same until some semblance of balance is restored to this State politically.

In the mean time help with the recalls anyway you can to send a message.
If restraining yourself from discouraging others is all you can do, that would be appreciated as well!

Maybe the local Republican leadership feels recalls are not called for or afraid that it would hurt them in the next election if their brand was attached to such an effort?? Maybe like all Politicians they are waiting to see which way the wind is blowing before committing.
Scott Bruun is out of Politics, right? First time I heard of him but I would venture to say he, like plenty of Republicans in Oregon are moderate or even left on a lot of issues compared to the rest of the Country's Republicans. Sort of what the Democrats used to be.

Unfortunately too many of the Democrats are Progressive Socialist ideologues. Betsy Johnson being one of the exceptions I guess.

You might have something there!
Riley is a buffoon and easy to beat, the appointed replacement will be a charming, carefully calculated pick that appeals to all sides perhaps. Maybe a guy/gal that is much tougher to beat? Pro business you say?

You can't really blame the Republicans for being as calculating then I guess. Politics is a sleazy business all around but the Republicans in Oregon have proven to be better than the Progressives on guns generally speaking as well as more pro business too.

And with our gun rights and other freedoms slipping away quickly, one Democrat Bill at a time, unless this unnamed Riley replacement is very Pro Gun well......

I think a real grass roots recall without help of the Republicans or any other outside help would be so much better of a message anyway! And who's to say Riley will actually run again?
The Dems may push him out. isn't he a racist or something?

This mystery Dem replacement may be inevitable regardless of the success or failure of the recall.

Either way the recall has worked already IMO and I hope it goes all the way and succeeds.

It will send a chilling message indeed that the people are fed up of all the Progressive BS being forced on us despite being majority Democrat voters! A chilling message that the other side is finally getting organized!
