Not exactly what you are looking for but I thought I should mention it just in case as it's a very good deal. Out at The Gun Broker in Woodburn there is (as of last week) a pre-lock S&W 629-1, short barrel .44 Magnum in stainless steel for sale at a bit over $500. Those are pretty rare and will shoot .44 Specials all day long.

That .44 Magnum was the short 3" (or 2.75") barrel. Very hard to find.

If you don't find something locally, you might check out auctionarms.com. They have a Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum with a 2.25" barrel and concealed hammer on auction right now. With 2 days to go, the bids are just over $300. Should be able to fit in your truck.
