I may have a timing issue with a S&W 617.

Just send it back to S&W they'll fix it for you. I've have great service from them in the past

I have a model 10 from my grandfather that shaves bullets...not so cool. But timing is everything ... right? Thanks for this help.

Send it back to S&W for a tune up. You'll get it back in spec and be able to enjoy it without worry. A nice Model 10 is a keeper and since it's your Grandfather's, a treasure.
