I truly did enjoy the exchange. You have a good point, out of town or position to include pics. Just seems so simple nowadays to include it, and how many of us have a photo of everyone of our guns...so much gun porn.

Missed connections? To the hot bi-metal curious gunslinger I saw at the range with your adorable tight range bag. I was too shy to ask for your number, so here is mine...9MM-.458 Socom...

That was an interesting thread our OP linked to... "I'm not here to make friends, I'm just here to sell guns." All-righty, then.

I dunno, just seems that if someone takes the time to put their ad up, they can add a pic or two. Even if the gun for sale was something we've all seen before (i.e., a Glock pistol), a good photo can illustrate the condition and any ad with decent pics will get a lot more hits than ads without.

For me, I don't want to have to play phone , PM or email tag and wait for photos, do more work to communicate with a seller to obtain bubblegumty pics anyway, show them up front. I also don't trust people selling guns they're the second, third, fourth owner of and claiming the piece is "ANIB" or "LNIB." We need pics.

But I don't have problems posting photos, even though another member once accused me of grabbing photos (of my own guns) randomly from Google. The privacy issue of loading pics on a forum such as this? That ship has sailed, you're already on the forum and can be traced, presumably you do own a legal gun or two. Scammers grabbing your pics and posting them on other sites? Annoying, but ultimately, does it really harm you?

Actually, it does. Pictures belong to whomever originally snapped the photo. Just because it is on the internet, does not make it public property. Some of us make a modest living from our photos (not always firearms), so get kinda touchy when they are stolen (or we are not allowed to delete them when our item is sold).

Point taken.

One would think that with all the technology at hand, there'd be some type of security, or a way to prevent photos originally uploaded to a privately-owned website from being jacked.
