Seems there is quite a history of old ads. Is it up to the seller to remove after sales? How to, new to site. Thanks
It is a process but old ads are being locked that are more than a year old without recent activity. Newer add that have sold and are not closed can be reported so they can be properly closed.

Please do not delete the ad or wordage of the ad...
It messes with the forum system...
Folks way smarter than me 'bout computers can answer the "Why" this is.

Deleting a sales ad is also against forum rules.
Rule #8... We also state that you do not remove ad information , please see the rules / guidelines at the top of your classified ads.....

If you have trouble locking a sales ad contact a Moderator and we will lock it for you.

Yes there are a lot of old ads , yes it is in the rules to close your ad when sold but not all members follow the rules that's why we (staff) are needed.......but we do work on this issue as time allows.

It also helps that members check to see how recent the seller has been active on the site before posting in the ad. This can be done by simply hovering over the OP's name or clicking on it to see their profile which states "last seen" date and time. If they haven't been on for a while like a month or more then it is a pretty good bet they wont reply and can also be reported as a dead ad using the report feature.
