I've taken the Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Course a couple of times - much better than Basic with multiple, intense triage scenarios. Basic First Aid assumes that 911 is coming; Wilderness First Aid assumes that help is a long ways away.
Excellent point. Even a seemingly minor wound can be serious in primitive conditions, and what would be considered moderate fatal.
