No ammo is better than Remington Thunderbolt ammo.

I don't see any place on my little 50 round boxes of RT where there is a lot number. So I just have to hope it is fine I guess.

Lot numbers might be printed on the tabs on the boxes.

As to Remington Thunderbolt ammo being the best. Well not everyone share that opinion. I personally won't shoot the crap in anything I own. YMMV

What kind of crap is this? No idea where the lot numbers are located. I've got some numbers on a 500 pack, on the box flap, I bought a couple of months ago but they don't look anything like what the notice shows??

I have had more FTFs, low powder charges, double charges, etc with this crap than any other ammo I've ever bought. Paid for a case...now I look at the 9/10ths full box with hate.

I think what PuddleMonkey is trying to say is that Thunderbolt is worse than having no ammo at all... Hey PuddleMonkey, do I win a cookie?

I've found that Thunderbolt ammo fouls the rifling of anything I use to shoot it nearly as badly as the waxy old yellow-box Remington-Peters garbage. I yearn for the days when we could get as much Federal blue-box bulk-pack as we wanted...

A couple weeks ago I ran a few hundred thunderbolts through my M&P .22p and 15 .22 and had more than a few problems. FTF FTE. I chalked it up to my .22s just being gunked up. I cleaned em up and haven't been back out to see if that was the issue. I've never had a problem with the T Bolts till now. I've plowed through a 1,000 rnds of it with zero issues using both guns. Still have several hundred rounds to try and figure it out. Hope it was gunk. Can't beat $1.90 per 50 for .22 when it's right in front of you.

They are recalling it so they can resell it at twice the original price.

The inside flap has the number stamped into the it
use pencil and shade over to see the number some are stamped so light they are very hard to read

Yeah, inside tab of the small boxes (not the barcode tab) is an imprinted number (like 1277BB) which can be read as BB1277 as far as a recall goes. In the big box it's also on the inside tab. It's the long, long bottom number.

I just picked up a box of these (hadn't heard the horror stories) and mine seem to be unlisted in the recall.

No, no there isn't any number(s) looking like the lot #s mention on the inside flaps of the individual 50 round boxes. there are two zeros, or Os imprinted not inked, is all. I pulled four boxes out to look.

    Oh, that's disgusting Puddlemonkey.......

I was posting couple months ago about some Remington I finally found at Bimart being "loose". My lot# is 4 numbers less than recall number so apparently the die just kept getting looser and looser........

This will be my last stand I'm out of everything else including rocks ammo..........

I have a brick of these yet. Were from when they were introduced.
Have shot a couple bricks, but never had a problem with any of it.
The crimp is good on the older stuff. The lube appears to be a hard lube, not the wax. Shot clean.
I do slide an H9 patch through about every couple hundred rds though.
