Probably made for the Mexican Army.(?)
Everything works, and I'd guess if you had the correct ammo, it'd fire great.
Bore and rifling look exceptionally good to me.
Wood is very nice, has a nice brown patina on the metal.
It is missing the left side pin retainer plate which is available online for $20
I'm told it was made in 1902, even though it's a model 1898. Either way,it Must go through FFL ,as I bought it from one, post 941.
