Thats a grand old 22LR. Can you give us some of the gun's history?
I'm sorry I really dont know anything about it .I just thought it was a cool old .22 and I bought it.
I think that old gun is chambered in the .22 Remington automatic. Which If so, dates way back and is a rare old semi obsolete or obsolete rim fire cartridge.
Have you chambered anything in the rifle or do you intent to shoot it, the .22 long rifle I mean?
It might be they [Remington] chambered the Mod 16 in the .22 long rifle but if so I have never seen one personally.
Nice collector piece
The barrel is stamped (22 Remington autoloading ) I just assumed .22lr
Thanks for the info
It's Remington .22 automatic, which is not the same as .22lr. That round hasn't been produced in decades. Hard to find and very expensive. Gorgeous rifle, but a collector, not a shooter.
