Remington is releasing a run of civilian models in early 2010.

Not sure when Bushmaster is doing theirs.

They're off of the <broken link removed> rifle...they sold their design to Bushmaster who then renamed it the ACR.

It's a piston-driven AR...check out Magpul's website for more info, videos and press releases...

It has nothing to do with the AR-15.

The ACR is more based on the AR-180 than anything else. But it has some unique features brought over from the FAL, HK91, and Robinson XCR type of guns.

It's been talked about in one form or another for about 3 years now. Looks neat. Original estimates on price was $1500. Unfortunately, rumors are now that it's going to be closer to $2400.

I seriously doubt that it will be under $1500...and if it is, it will be of sub-par quality that can be sometimes expected from Bushmaster.

So lose-lose either way...I really wish MagPul would have produced it. This gun is suppossed to make the XM8 look like a POS and the FN SCAR look too expensive.

I think it has potential. Even though Cerberus Mgt is producing it, I have hope. I am intrigued to try one when they come out...

looks good...but..i would still go with the SCAR if I was going to spend that much money on a rifle.
