Remington 870 Wingmaster - Receiver Conversion to 3"??

Oh man I have a Dremel tool just itching to bubba up an ejection port...but no need to do it on yours... I save it for special circumstances!

What's the finish on that? I really like the lighter color of the wood against the barrel. Is that a like a marine/nickel finish?

I've never even bought a 3" shell

Since lead was outlawed for waterfowl neither have I.
But in a SHTF situation it would be a bummer to only have access to 3" and have no way to shoot it.

The ability to shoot either could be an advantage.

I had an offer to trade my 3" Express straight across for a beautiful 2-3/4" Wingmaster and had 2nd thoughts.
Which is why I brought it up here.

Ironically, the guy wanted my 3" so he'd have better luck on turkey.

they are the same except the ejector......

So's a S&W 38 Spl. vs a S&W 357 Mag. Only 1/10th of an inch difference in the chamber depth

I don't know if you read it, but in post #15, one of our resident gunsmiths, Velzey, confirmed the conversion can be made - no issue with the size of the receiver or ejector port.
