I have a Remington 700 Stainless synthetic chambered in 338 Remington Ultra Mag. It has a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 with the BDC crosshair sitting in 30mm Leupold Dual Dovetail mounts. When I got it, it had a worthless brake on it so I had it replaced with an APA Micro Bastard and had a threaded cap made for it at the same time. Gun weighs about 8.5#, so it's a bit lively from the bench without the brake, but not unmanageable. I figured this would be about the ultimate rifle combo for coast bears and elk. I've done load development for it, and the rifle will come with 110 loaded rounds, Redding dies, 4 empty cases, 20 250gr Accubonds, and a pound and a half of RL33. Chronograph says 2860fps, at 40°.
