I don't reload yet, but I was talking to beretta96 about it yesterday and got tons of good information. With ammo prices the way they are, now would be the perfect time to start. I'd like to start reloading 9mm, .45, and .44 mag.
This is my first post! I reload the following: 38 special, .357 Mag, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, 9mm Luger, .223 Rem, .243 Win, 303 British, 7.5 Swiss, .308 Win, and 6.5 Carcano.
I just went over 92,000 on my Hornady LnL. I load mostly .45 and 9mm. I have loaded 45LC, 300WSM, .308, .270, .243, .223, .204 Ruger. I'm all set up to load all those calibers, just don't shoot the long guns as much as the pistols.
When it comes to manuals and other references I always recommend the Speer manual and the Hornady manual or set if its an older edition. They are some of the better reloading manuals in my opinion. The speer and hornady manuals cover the process in depth and are certainly among the better references on the subject.

Humm, haven't read that one (ABCs), but did start in the early 60's with
a Lyman 310 nutcracker tool and loaded 45 Auto and 30-06. Also still
have a Herters C press and a few sets of dies from that era. For some
reason switched to a RCBS Rockchucker even though the Herters works
and I have adapters for it. Have a couple of MECs, Pacific, and some
unknown one, and in 12 Ga. shotgun.

Whoever asked about loading steel cases, PLEASE DON'T !!!! I have heard
of some doing it, but it doesn't have the same characteristics as brass. It
and aluminum cases are not designed for reloading are brittle when reworked.
Brass can be annealed for added life and prevent work hardening when sized
The others can not. They can split on the first, second, or ? Why injure
yourself or destroy your rifle or both?
Dontellthewife is a ZEN master when it comes to reloading! He tried catching bullets with his hand. Hee! Hee! His work station is a dream get away for reloader. Hell! If Winchester ever need to out house their contracts he could qualify to subcontract.
